Question - What is a disconnect and why is it important?
Answer - A disconnect is completed by a Plumber and will disconnect all faucets and water lines prior to countertop installation. It is important to ensure that all shut off valves shut off properly so there is no emergency repairs during your countertop installation. Plumbers will also disconnect garbage disposals and faucets that you may want to reinstall and keep all parts together for reconnect.
Question - What should I expect and how should I prepare?
Answer - A disconnect will be scheduled early in the morning prior to Rock Solid Installation. We will disconnect all plumbing fixtures needed and preserve any parts needed for reconnect. We will schedule your reconnect for the following morning (or at a time convenient for you). You will be without water to those areas until reconnect appointment.
Question - Why is the reconnect scheduled for the following day and not same day?
Answer - Rock Solid will install your undermount sinks with an adhesive to your countertop. Per recommendations, we allow it to set without disruption to make sure it seals properly. We always give priority scheduling for first call next morning to minimize the amount of time without plumbing.
Question - Can I reuse my existing faucet or disposal or supply my own faucets or garbage disposal?
Answer - Yes and Yes. Modern Plumbing will disconnect your existing faucets and disposal and preserve all necessary parts for re-installation.
