Modern Plumbing Warranty Policy
Our goal is simple: provide the best plumbing solutions we can at fair, affordable rates, and stand behind our work. This page explains our warranty coverage in plain language so you always know what to expect. Good plumbing service starts with honest communication, and that includes being clear about the limits of repairs, existing plumbing conditions, and owner supplied materials.
We believe good plumbing service starts with honest communication. Our plumbers are not salespeople. They are trained professionals who provide practical recommendations based on what they see in the home, the condition of the plumbing, and what makes the most sense for your budget.
Whenever possible, we try to explain the issue clearly, provide helpful options, and give our professional opinion so you can make the best decision for your home. We also believe plumbing warranties should be handled with a common sense approach. We appreciate our customers, and we want every homeowner in Citrus County to feel confident when choosing Modern Plumbing.
1 year warranty on fixtures we supply and install
1 Year, Including LaborModern Plumbing provides a 1 year warranty, including labor, for repair or replacement on plumbing fixtures supplied and installed by Modern Plumbing. This includes items such as water heaters, toilets, faucets, and garbage disposals. The warranty applies to manufacturer defects and workmanship related to the original installation.
What is covered
- Manufacturer defects on the fixture
- Workmanship from the original installation
- Repair or replacement labor for 1 year
- Water heaters, toilets, faucets, disposals we install
What is not covered
- Physical damage or misuse
- Neglect or lack of maintenance
- Customer or third party modifications
- Water quality or excessive pressure issues
- Freezing damage
- Damage caused by another contractor
A note on manufacturer warranties: Manufacturer warranties may vary by product. In some cases, parts may be covered by the manufacturer while labor is handled according to Modern Plumbing's warranty policy. When we supply the fixture, we are able to stand behind both the product and the installation.
1 year workmanship warranty on major installations
1 Year WorkmanshipModern Plumbing provides a 1 year workmanship warranty on major installations. Major installations may include repipes, water service replacements, major pipe replacement, water heater installations, and plumbing rough-in or trim-out work for remodel projects. This warranty covers the quality of the installation workmanship performed by Modern Plumbing.
Manufacturer warranties on the products themselves, such as the water heater tank or piping materials, are provided separately by the manufacturer and may extend beyond our 1 year workmanship coverage. We are always glad to help you understand which coverage applies to your specific installation.
What workmanship coverage means: If an issue arises within the first year that is related to how the installation was performed by our team, we will make it right. Issues caused by the manufacturer's product are handled through the manufacturer warranty, and we are happy to help guide you through that process.
Plumbing repair warranty
30 Day Limited WorkmanshipModern Plumbing provides a 30 day limited workmanship warranty on plumbing repairs. This may include repairs such as pipe repairs, fittings, faucet cartridges, toilet repairs, and minor leak repairs. The warranty applies only to the specific repair performed.
Because many repairs involve existing fixtures, older plumbing systems, worn parts, or underlying conditions, this warranty does not guarantee the condition of the entire fixture or plumbing system. Additional charges may apply if the issue is caused by pre-existing conditions, unrelated plumbing problems, worn fixtures, failed parts not replaced during the original repair, or conditions outside the specific repair performed by Modern Plumbing. If a repair does not hold or the fixture continues to have problems, we may recommend replacing the fixture or affected component instead of continuing to repair the same issue.
Drain stoppage warranty
24 Hour Limited WarrantyDue to the nature of drain stoppages, Modern Plumbing provides a limited 24 hour warranty on drain cleaning services. Drain stoppages can be caused by many conditions outside of our control, including grease buildup, wipes, roots, damaged piping, bellies in the sewer line, improper fittings, heavy paper use, or foreign objects in the drain.
After the 24 hour limited warranty period, return visits for continued or related stoppage issues are billed at standard service call and labor rates unless Modern Plumbing determines the issue was caused by our original workmanship.
When stoppages keep coming back: Repeated stoppages are often a sign of a larger plumbing issue. We may recommend a sewer video camera inspection to determine whether the problem is caused by roots, broken pipe, sagging pipe, grease, or another condition in the drain line. If heavy grease buildup is present, hydro jet sewer drain cleaning may be recommended. You can read more on our drain and sewer troubleshooting page.
Owner supplied fixtures and materials
30 Day Limited Workmanship, Installation OnlyNo product warranty is provided on owner supplied fixtures, parts, or materials. This includes fixtures or materials purchased by the homeowner, property owner, property manager, contractor, or any third party. If the fixture itself is defective, that is handled through the manufacturer or place of purchase.
However, we do stand behind our labor. Modern Plumbing may provide a 30 day limited workmanship warranty on the installation only, if the fixture was complete, compatible, undamaged, and installed according to normal plumbing standards. The product itself, though, is outside of our control.
Why we mention this: Owner supplied fixtures may have missing parts, incorrect parts, manufacturer defects, shipping damage, poor fitment, or quality issues we cannot control. When Modern Plumbing supplies the fixture, we are able to stand behind both the product and the installation with our full 1 year warranty. It is one of the honest reasons we often recommend letting us provide the fixture when it makes sense for your project.
Existing plumbing conditions
Warranty coverage does not apply to existing plumbing systems, pre-existing conditions, or issues unrelated to the specific work performed by Modern Plumbing.
Existing plumbing problems may include old piping, brittle fittings, poor previous repairs, improper installation by others, corrosion, water pressure issues, sewer line defects, clogged drains, or fixture failure due to age.
We will always do our best to communicate any concerns we see while performing work. If additional repairs or replacements are recommended, we will explain the issue and provide options when possible, so you can decide what is right for your home.
Warranty exclusions
To keep things clear and honest, here are the conditions our warranties do not cover. These apply across all of the warranties described above:
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance
- Damage from freezing, storms, flooding, or other acts of nature
- Damage caused by water quality, hard water, sediment, or excessive water pressure
- Modifications, repairs, or alterations made by the customer or another contractor
- Pre-existing conditions and normal wear on existing plumbing
- Owner supplied products, defective fixtures, or materials not provided by Modern Plumbing
- Sewer and drain conditions outside of our control, such as roots, grease, or foreign objects
- Consequential or secondary damage resulting from a plumbing failure
