(352) 726-5601What a water-supply repipe includes
The typical mobile-home range of $4,500 to $7,500 is an estimate, not a fixed price. We confirm access, pipe material, fixture shutoffs, supply connectors and included permits in a written quote. Drain and sewer piping, water heaters, shower valves, floor or drywall repairs and belly-wrap restoration are separate unless listed. Our full repipe package uses CPVC; material for individual repairs is specified separately. Typical 1 to 3 business-day timing depends on access, inspections and project size. For hidden leaks, we work with American Leak Detection for professional locating and provide the plumbing repair or repipe estimate afterward.

Whole-home and mobile home repipe specialists
Modern Plumbing Services is Citrus County's trusted repipe contractor for both site-built homes and mobile and manufactured homes. If you are dealing with discolored water, low water pressure, frequent leaks, or outdated piping, a full repipe is often the most reliable and cost-effective long-term fix.
We replace the hot and cold water-supply lines specified in your written scope with CPVC piping, install new shut-off valves at every fixture, and connect braided stainless steel supply lines throughout the home. Every repipe includes a pressure test, a leak check, and full cleanup, and you get a free on-site estimate with detailed written pricing before any work begins.
Since 1978, we have repiped hundreds of homes in Inverness, Crystal River, Lecanto, Homosassa, Beverly Hills, Hernando, Floral City, Citrus Springs, and throughout the county. Mobile homes are especially common here, and we know their plumbing inside and out.
The polybutylene problem in Citrus County
Many mobile and manufactured homes in Citrus County were built between 1978 and 1995 with polybutylene water supply lines. Polybutylene was popular because it was cheap and easy to install, but it breaks down over time when exposed to chlorine in treated water. That leads to tiny cracks and pipe failures, often with little warning.
Polybutylene pipe is a known failure risk
Polybutylene (usually gray, blue, or black plastic) is no longer made or approved for new construction. Many insurance companies will not write or renew policies on homes with polybutylene water lines, and buying or selling a mobile home with poly pipe often means a repipe is needed to close the sale or get coverage.
If your mobile home was built before 2000 and the water lines have never been replaced, there is a good chance it still has polybutylene. We will inspect your system and give you an honest assessment at no charge. Schedule a free inspection →

Repipe FAQ
How do I know if my mobile home has polybutylene pipe?
▾Polybutylene is usually gray, blue, or black flexible plastic pipe, and it was common in mobile and manufactured homes built between 1978 and 1995. Check under the kitchen sink, behind the water heater, or at the main water shut-off. Gray plastic pipe with metal crimp rings is most likely polybutylene. We will inspect your system for free and give you an honest assessment. Schedule a free inspection.
How much does a mobile home repipe cost in Citrus County?
▾Most mobile home repipes run $4,500 to $7,500, depending on crawl space access, whether shower valves need replacing, and the age of the water heater. Site-built homes are priced by size, number of bathrooms, and access. Every estimate is free, on site, and in writing. Because all of the supply lines, shut-off valves, and connections are replaced in one job, a full repipe usually costs less in the long run than patching leak after leak on a failing system. Request a free estimate.
Why CPVC instead of PEX?
▾We install CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) for our repipes. It is a proven, code-compliant material with decades of reliable performance in Florida water. It handles hot and cold water, resists corrosion, and makes rigid connections that are easy to inspect and service. Every repipe also includes new shut-off valves and braided stainless steel supply lines at every fixture.
Will my insurance drop me if I have polybutylene pipes?
▾Many Florida insurance companies will not write or renew homeowner's policies on homes with polybutylene water lines because of the known failure risk. If you are buying, selling, or renewing insurance on a home built before 2000, a repipe may be required. We provide documentation of the completed repipe for your insurance company.
How long does a repipe take?
▾Most mobile home repipes are done in 1 to 2 days. Site-built homes usually take 1 to 3 days, depending on size, number of bathrooms, and access. We schedule at your convenience, keep the disruption as small as possible, and water is usually back on the same day.
Do you repipe site-built homes too, or just mobile homes?
▾Both. In site-built homes we replace old copper and galvanized pipe with new CPVC, working through walls, the attic, or a crawl space with as few openings as possible. For homes on a slab with repeated slab leaks, we can reroute the supply lines above the slab to take care of the problem for good. Learn about slab leak repair.
Do I need to leave my home during a repipe?
▾No. Most families stay home. The water is off while we work during the day, and in most cases it is back on by evening. We will let you know the plan ahead of time so you can fill a few jugs of water and plan around it.
Will a repipe improve my water pressure?
▾Often, yes. Old galvanized pipe narrows on the inside as it corrodes, and failing lines lose pressure through leaks. New CPVC with new shut-off valves and supply lines usually brings back strong, steady pressure at every fixture.
Should I replace my water heater at the same time?
▾If your water heater is more than about 10 years old, it can make sense to replace it during the repipe, since the connections are being redone anyway. We offer all-inclusive flat-rate AO Smith ProLine water heater installations starting at $1,525. We will give you an honest opinion at your estimate.
Can you repipe just part of my home?
▾Yes. If only one area has problems, such as a bathroom or a single line under the slab, we can replace or reroute just that section. If the rest of the system is the same old material, we will tell you honestly whether a full repipe makes more sense in the long run.
Is there a discount on repipes?
▾Yes. Take $100 off any whole-home or mobile home repipe. Mention the coupon at your free estimate. See all coupons and discounts.
What areas do you serve for repipes?
▾All of Citrus County, including Inverness, Crystal River, Homosassa, Lecanto, Beverly Hills, and Hernando, plus Dunnellon, Inglis, Bushnell, Wildwood, and Brooksville. Repipe estimates are free everywhere we work.
