Modern Plumbing, Inc. is Citrus County's trusted repipe contractor for both traditional construction homes and mobile/manufactured homes. If you're dealing with discolored water, low water pressure, frequent leaks, or outdated piping materials, a full repipe is often the most reliable and cost-effective long-term solution.
We replace all hot and cold water lines with CPVC piping, install new shut-off valves at every fixture, and connect braided stainless steel supply lines throughout the home. Every repipe includes a pressure test, leak inspection, and full cleanup. We provide free on-site estimates with detailed written pricing before any work begins.
Since 1978, we've repiped hundreds of homes across Inverness, Crystal River, Lecanto, Homosassa, Beverly Hills, Hernando, Floral City, Citrus Springs, and throughout the county. Mobile homes are an especially common property type in this area, and we understand the unique plumbing challenges they present.
The Polybutylene Problem in Citrus County
Thousands of mobile and manufactured homes in Citrus County were built between 1978 and 1995 with polybutylene (poly) water supply lines. Polybutylene was widely used because it was cheap and easy to install, but it degrades over time when exposed to chlorine and other oxidants in municipal water. The result is micro-fractures that lead to sudden pipe failures, often with little warning.
⚠️ Polybutylene Pipes Are a Known Failure Risk
Polybutylene piping (typically gray, blue, or black plastic) is no longer manufactured or approved for new construction. Many insurance companies will not write or renew homeowner's policies on properties with polybutylene water lines. If you're buying or selling a mobile home with poly pipe, a full repipe is often required to close the sale or obtain coverage.
If your mobile home was built before 2000 and you've never had the water lines replaced, there's a strong chance it still has polybutylene. We can inspect your system and give you an honest assessment at no charge. Schedule a free inspection →
Signs Your Home Needs a Repipe
If you're experiencing any of these issues, your home's water supply lines may be failing and a repipe could be the best solution.
Our Repipe Process
Free On-Site Inspection & Estimate
We inspect your current piping, identify the material and condition, count fixtures, and assess access points. You receive a detailed written estimate with no obligation.
Schedule & Prepare
We schedule the work at your convenience. For mobile homes, we access the belly board underneath. For traditional construction homes, we identify the least-invasive access routes through walls, attic, or crawl space.
Remove Old Piping & Install CPVC
We remove all old water supply lines and replace them with new CPVC piping. Every fixture gets a new shut-off valve and braided stainless steel supply line.
Pressure Test, Inspect & Clean Up
We pressure-test the entire system, check every connection for leaks, and run every fixture to confirm proper flow and temperature. The work area is cleaned and any access points are secured.
What's Included in Every Repipe
CPVC Water Lines
All hot and cold supply lines replaced with durable, code-compliant CPVC piping rated for residential water systems.
New Shut-Off Valves
Every fixture — sinks, toilets, tubs, water heater — gets a new individual shut-off valve for easy future maintenance.
Braided Stainless Supply Lines
Braided stainless steel supply lines at every fixture for a leak-resistant, flexible connection that won't corrode or burst.
Pressure Test & Leak Check
Full system pressure test and visual inspection at every joint. We confirm proper flow, temperature, and zero leaks before we leave.

Repipe FAQ
Polybutylene piping is typically gray, blue, or black flexible plastic pipe. It was commonly installed in mobile and manufactured homes built between 1978 and 1995. Check under your kitchen sink, behind the water heater, or at the main water shut-off — if you see gray plastic pipe with crimp rings, it's likely polybutylene. Cost depends on the size of the home, number of fixtures, and accessibility. We provide free on-site estimates with a detailed written breakdown. Because we replace all supply lines, shut-off valves, and supply connections in a single job, a full repipe is often more cost-effective than patching individual leaks on a failing system. We install CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) piping for our repipes. CPVC is a proven, code-compliant material with decades of reliable performance in Florida's water conditions. It handles hot and cold water, resists corrosion, and provides rigid connections that are easy to inspect and service. Every install includes new shut-off valves and braided stainless steel supply lines at every fixture.
Many insurance companies in Florida will not write or renew homeowner's policies on properties with polybutylene water supply lines due to the known failure risk. If you're buying, selling, or renewing insurance on a mobile home built before 2000, a repipe may be required. We can provide documentation of the completed repipe for your insurance company.
Most mobile home repipes are completed in 1–2 days. Traditional construction home repipes typically take 1–3 days depending on the size of the home, number of bathrooms, and access requirements. We schedule at your convenience and minimize disruption as much as possible. Water is typically restored the same day.
We repipe both. For traditional construction homes, we replace old copper and galvanized with new CPVC piping. Access is through walls, attic, or crawl space with minimal patching. For homes on a slab with slab leak issues, we can reroute supply lines above the slab to eliminate the problem entirely.
